Unusual mid-century German vase with a classic design. With a cobalt blue matte finish and metallic overlay decor pattern, this is a very distinctive looking piece. This design is called Ankara. In excellent condition and measuring 12" tall, it is a very attractive and unusual tall vase. Carstens operated from 1945-1984 and most of the designs were created by Trude Carstens the wife of the founder who was artistic director until 1965. Unlike most German pottery makers,who only provided model numbers and/or Germany, W. Germany designations, Carstens marked it's pieces. *Information sourced from Fat Lava, by Mark Hill.
