| Large Scandinavian bronze necklace designed by Pentti Sarpaneva in 1969. As with many of his bronze pieces part of the surface has been blackened to create a further contrast. Most of Sarpaneva's designs are very organic and this is one of my favorites. It is very large, measuring 3 1/4 inches long by just over 3 inches wide. The chain, which is original to the piece is 25 inches. Great condition and design. Marked on rear. This Sarpaneva piece is illustrated in "New Design in Jewelry" by Donald Willcox, published in 1970. | |||||||
