| This chrome and galalith Bengel necklace screams art deco. Galalith was a pre-cursor to bakelite and was widely used in Germany and France. Gaspipe chain was popular for these pieces and is a strong element in what is fundamentally a simple but powerful design. Similar sautoirs are illustrated in the Jakob Bengel book by Christiane Weber on pages 108 and 139. This hangs 14 inches and is in excellent condition and in a wonderful bright red.
