| This sterling silver modernist necklace is signed by Owe Johansson, a Swedish designer. Made in the 1970s it is marked 925, made in Finland and has his signature. This piece has great texture and volume emphasized by its molten design and contrasting surfaces. The open, hollow spaces emphasized by the upward reaching "pods" also add great visual interest to his design. The pendant part of the necklace is 2 1/8" x 1 1/2"; the chain is 23" long and original to the piece. Several of Johansson's pendants are illustrated in "New Design in Jewelry" by Donald Willcox, published in 1970. | ||||||
