| Lovely glazed studio pottery vase by Mathies Schwarze in shades of blue. A master potter, who trained in Germany with some of the most preeminent ceramic artists, he has been working since the 1960s and now has his own school as well. The elegant shape has been decorated with subtle hints of golds and browns in it's primarily blue decor. It is 11 1/2 inches tall and 14 inches in diameter at it's widest toward the bottom. Signed and dated for 2001 on the base. Mathies' work has appeared in numerous competitions and is in several museums and private collections worldwide.
