Tim Lewis Stone Carved Sculpture, Guardian Angel, Sandstone

This piece is carved with great detail and over time created into this masterpiece. It would be so nice to have to protect your home or invited positive energy. The genesis of the glyptic tradition is lost in time but it surely can be traced via "the memory of imagination" to some nameless Paleolithic artist inspired "out of great necessity and urgent creative need" to transform a rock into a sculptured form. Carved in 2006 38 x 20 x 10 inches Tim Lewis (B. 1952-) Isonville, KY Tim Lewis has shown in Customs House Museum & Cultural Center 2008 Columbus Museum of Art 2009, Mennello Museum of American Art 2009, Kentucky Folk Art Center 2009, Referenced in:- Time made real - The carvings of Tim Lewis - Catalog, Customs House Museum & Cultural House 2008, Outsider Art of the South , Kathy Moses Schiffer Publishing 1999, Abbeville Press 1996, Contemporary American Folk Art - A Collectors Guide , Chuck and Jan Rosenak, 20th Century American Folk, Self Taught, and Outsider Art, Betty- Carol Sellen, Neal-Schuman Publishing 1993
