| Created in 1996 this intricate drawing was done by renowned artist Bobby Williford. This very detialed drawing features a castle slowly rising from the earth. Take note of the homage to M.C. Escher, in the upper left corner where the staircase in the window is. This framed piece measures 18.5 x 15.5 x .5. Bobby Williford is a North Carolina native who now crafts his art in Nashville , Tennessee. Born in 1959 and formerly homeless, Williford has already had a one-man show and a group exhibition at Nashville's prestigious Cheekwood Museum of Art in February and December of 1996. His work has been acquired by numerous connoisseurs of folk art. His drawings are very distinctive and visually complex, and have the quality of brightly colored, faceted jewels strewn across the paper. Bobby is featured in Kathy Moses Outsider Art of the South 1999 book, pages 189-193. | |||||||||||||||
