M.C. Haywood Porcelain Painting, Sandpipers
This is a very well painted piece of porcelain featuring two sandpipers nesting amongst a frove of trees and a s doe peers shyly from behind a tree in the distance. This picture has a period frame that complements the image. MC Haywood was an African-American painter born in Saline Michigan around 1853-1854 and studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine arts. He live the majority of this life around Kansas and Missouri. Haywood passed away around 1910-1911. The piece of porcelain measures 11" x 8", while the entire piece framed measures 14" x 10 3/4" x 1 3/4".
