| Monumental, eighteen inches, late Meiji Japanese cloisonne covered jar. The artist depicts three ducks in stream, surrounded by beautifully shaded water lillies. Domed lid with two artistically shaded birds in flight, and single butterfly. Enamelled finial, decorated with fourteen petal Imperial Chrysanthemum. The entire urn done in the finest silver wire, many times thinner than a human hair. The piece is in excellent condition, rims perfectly round, colors are vibrant, diverse, and masterfully shaded. Few faint lines, beneath the surface only and flakes. The urn is eighteen inches tall, eight and one half inches at the widest. Unsigned, though clearly the work of a master. | |||||||||||
