A Vintage Brooch made in Taxco, Mexico by well known Silversmith Artemio Navarrete. Navarrete helped William Spratling start his original workshop, Taller de Las Delicias in Taxco in 1931. Measures approximately 1 3/4" square. Marked Taxco, the Conjoined AV for Artemio Navarrete and 940 for the silver content ( better than sterling). Has safety catch. Made of two heavy fused disks and engraved with a stylized initial 'E'. Brooch measures 1 1/2" across and has a safety rollover clasp that holds tightly.
