Extremely rare funerary spool-shaped terracotta vessel created by the Akan people of Ghana, 19th-20th century, with incised simple geometric decoration. A very large example of this rare pottery form (15" in diameter, 7" high) believed to have been created to honor the dead in "places of pots" or asensie.

Rare Moroccan (Morocco) wedding sash or belt, dating from the second half of the 19th Century, in excellent condition (end tassels missing). 6" by 64". Hand woven with silk, metal thread, and cotton. This type of sash is known to have been worn by Jewish brides over the ceremonial wedding dress. Rare and beautiful.
