Antique (19th Century) Central or Western Anatolian prayer or altar kilim, in beautiful condition. 3'4" by 7'2". All natural dyes, complete sides and ends. Two well done old repairs lower left. From a design standpoint this kilim is arranged like an Obruk kilim (the pointed hooked mirhab topped with a tree of life design, and flanked in the spandrels by two more such designs). However the color palette and the feel are not typically Obruk. From a Charlotte, NC estate.

Large ritual Pre-Columbian incensario, Mixtec-Zapotec, West Mexico, presumably representing a corn god. Pre 900 AD. 15" high, 17" deep. This type of ritual object is quite rare. Incensarios were used in various cultures of ancient Mexico, and throughout Mesoamerica, for offerings of burning incense during religious and other ceremonial rituals.
Original oil on canvas by and unknown (presumably German artist--the painting is signed illegibly verso) circa 1840, a portrait of a beautiful woman named Therese von Bernswordt Wetzlar (born Oct. 26 1814 in Schluk-Schweinsber, died in Wetzlar Feb. 19 1877; married in Hermanstein on June 6 1843). This painting measures 18" by 14 1/2". In excellent condition.
Original oil portrait on canvas,circa 1840, of Wilhelm Ludwig Ferdinant, by an unknown (illegible signature) presumably German artist. This painting measures 18" by 14 1/2". It is signed illegibly verso. Also bears comments in Old German identifying the sitter, who lived in Wetzlar between 1807 and 1888, and was Major in the Kings Regiment.

Original marble sculpture by Theodor Mallener (Czech, 1892-1978). Mallener is a Czech sculptor born in Olomouc, Czechoslovakia. He apparently spent part of his life in Germany, where he died (Schwabmunchen, Bavaria) in 1972. He is listed mainly in Czech sources.
