Exceptional large size complete pair of Malatya saddlebags, offered in very good condition. These bags appear to date from the late nineteenth century. Slit tapestry with wrapped outline wefts, closure systems intact. Woven in Anatolia by Kurdish weavers. Approximately 33" by 58". One of three complete pairs currently in our collection.

Beautiful hand-thrown French art deco vase by G. Jaegle , circa 1920s, offered in perfect condition. This vase with its Persian blue crackled glaze brings to mind the work of Raoul Lachenal, with whom Jaegle worked for a while. Approximately 5" tall by 5" across. Signed "G. Jaegle" and numbered 113.

It is signed l.r. and still bears a gallery label from the Bertha Schaefer Gallery in New York City, a venue where this artist had solo exhibits in 1947, 1948, and 1950.
