Still housed in its original frame, and measuring roughly 11" by 13 1/2" (painting alone) and 17" by 20 1/2" in its frame. Walter Benoldi made a specialty of still-life paintings such as this one: extremely tight paintings which evoke nostalgia for an imaginary past, producing a dream-like, poetic, quasi-surrealist vision.
