| Original monotype (unique impression on paper from painting on glass plate) by Sidnee Livingston (American, 1905-1995), in perfect original condition, and recently reframed. Circa 1960s. Signed l.l. 14" by 11" (work alone). This is the largest of the five works by this artist currently available. Sidnee Livingston was born in New York and studied art at the National Academy of Design. She made her home in Greenwich Village, and is mainly known for her monotypes. A solo exhibition of these monotypes was held at the Wellons Gallery in NYC in 1954. She was the recipient of a MacDowell fellowship. One of five monotypes by this artist currently available. Well exhibited (AIC, etc.), collected, and listed in the usual databases, including CLARA Database of Women Artists, and Who Was Who in American Art. | |
