Extraordinary original oil painting on board by Denman Fink (American, 1880-1956), dated 1943 underneath the signature of the artist upper right. In excellent condition and in its original frame. 30" by 24" painting alone, 36" by 30" in its frame. Denman Fink is known as an artist, art professor, illustrator and architect. He studied at the Pittsburgh School of Design, at the Boston Museum of Art, and at the Art Students League. As an illustrator he contributed works to Scribner's magazine, to Harper's, to the Saturday Evening Post, etc. As an architect he designed all plans for Coral Gables, Florida, including the entrances, the fountains, the plazas, the Venetian Pool, etc. As an artist he exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, the City Museum of St.Louis, the Washington Art Gallery, etc . He was head of the Art Department at the University of Miami until his retirement in 1952.
