| Original mixed media painting on paper by Daniel Hersh (American, born 1946). This painting in excellent original unframed condition measures 18" by 24", and is signed l.r. and dated 1987. Daniel Hersh is a second generation abstract expressionist who studied with-- and assisted--Albert Kotin while at Long Island University in the sixties. He also assisted Abram Schlemowitz with his monumental abstract expressionist works. His style is reminiscent of Jackson Pollock's, although generally bolder and more rhythmic. He had a studio and art gallery in New Hope, PA, in the seventies, where he was the first to re-introduce to the public the New Hope Modernists. | |
