| Oil painting on artist board by Angeline A. Christaldi, circa 1940's. This painting in excellent untouched original condition measures 12" by 16" without the frame. It is signed and titled ("Fall") on the reverse. Christaldi was a Philadelphia artist who studied with Paul Horter and Umberto Romano and exhibited extensively at PAFA in the thirties and forties, as well as at the Philadelphia W.C.C., the Woodmere Art Gallery, the Montclair Art Museum in NJ, etc. She had 8 solo exhibitions in Philadelphia. She is listed in the usual data bases and reference works, including Who Is Who In American Art 1947, Who Was Who in American Art (1999, p. 641) and Artprice.com | |
