| Original oil painting on masonite panel by Don Fink (American, born 1923). This painting measures 23" by 29" in its original frame (19" by 25" painting alone). It is signed l.r. "Don Fink" and dated 1956. This painting is offered in excellent untouched condition (the frame may have to be replaced). Don Fink is an extremely well known and well listed American Abstract Expressionist painter (born in Duluth Minnesota) who studied at the ASL and at the Academie Julien, and chose very early (1952) to live and work in Paris, and, since 1977, in Barcelona. He was a member of the so-called "Jeune Ecole de Paris" (which boasted as members artists like Appel, Hundertwasser, Tapies, Messagier, etc.) He is very well listed and exhibited. His works are held by a number of institutions including the Musee d'Art Moderne in Paris, the Whitney in NY, the Brooklyn Museum, etc. One of two works by this artist currently offered. | |
