| Original oil painting on masonite panel by Thomas N. Toner (American, born 1941). This painting measures 12" by 9" (painting alone) and 19" by 16" in its elaborate and apparently original frame. It is in excellent condition. Signed "Toner" on the back of the board, and still bearing the artist's business card (from his Pennsylvania days) attached to the frame with the title of the painting ("Show Girl with Blue Gloves") and the address of the artist in Drexel Hill. Toner studied at PAFA and Oxford, and taught Art and Art History for 31 years at St. Louis University. He currently resides in Texas where he is still active as a painter. Listed in all the usual databases and reference works. Extensive auction record. | |
