| Original bronze bas-relief plaque by renowned American sculptor Roland Hinton Perry (1870-1941). This work measures 14 1/2" by 12 1/2" and is signed, dated (1917) and inscribed "sc" L.R. In good overall condition. Perry was born in NY and studied at the Ecole Des Beaux Arts in Paris starting in 1890. He quickly became a well-known sculptor upon returning to the US, and was responsible for the creation and execution of the "Commonwealth" sculpture for the Pennsylvania State Capitol building. He was a member of the National Sculpture Society. | |
