Original oil painting on canvas by Ed Kerns (Johnson Jr.), a well known American abstract expressionist painter born in 1945. This painting measures 20" by 20". It is signed, titled, and dated on the verso. It is in excellent condition. This painting, according to the artist who was contacted to confirm that it was indeed by him, "...was a part of a series of layered colored lines..." which he created for Larry Aldrich (The Aldrich Museum, Ridgefield, Connecticut). Other artists who produced paintings at that time for Aldrich were Robert Goodnough, Robert Indiana, etc. (Aldrich apparently gave these paintings to buyers and clients at holidays...) Ed Kerns is well-listed. Cf. Who Was who in American Art, etc.
