Original ink and wash drawing/watercolor on paper of a centaur by David Bumbeck (American, born 1940). This work is framed. It measures 20" by 21" in its frame. It is labeled on the reverse: "Bumbeck, ink and wash", and still bears a gallery label (High Point Galleries, Lenox, Massachussets). It is also initialed "D.B." and dated "4-27-65" l.r. David Bumbeck is a well-known American printmaker, painter, and sculptor. He has been teaching printmaking at Middlebury College since 1968. He is widely exhibited in the USA (Dartmouth College, University of Northern Arizona, Mary Ryan Gallery in New York, Everson College in Syracuse, etc.) and abroad. His work is in the collections of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Library of Congress, the New York Public Library, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Carnegie Museum of Art, etc. He was named Academician of the National Academy of Design in 1992.
