Extremely rare complete set (five books in their original bindings) of Konan Tanigami's "Seiyo Kusabana Zufu" (Illustrated Books of Western Flowers), with 25 original botanical woodblock prints per book--125 woodblocks total. The set is presented in a folding-case of cloth-wrapped boards with bone or ivory pin-fasteners. Each volume is bound accordeon-style with cloth-covered end boards. Two of the volumes have for subject "Spring flowers", two "Summer flowers", and one "Autumn and Winter flowers". This set was published in Kyoto, Japan, by Geiso-do, in 1917. Each volume bears the seal of the artist. This album can be found in the collection of the British Library, but is not currently offered for sale by anyone, although individual woodblocks occasionally surface.
