| Original oil painting on canvas by Marilyn Powers (American, Massachusetts, 1925-1976), offered in excellent condition. This painting measures 26" by 34", painting alone, and is currently framed in its original strip molding which bears the name of the artist, the title of the painting ("Rocks at Scituate"), the original price ($500) and the date of creation (1960). Marilyn Powers studied with Karl Zerbe (patriarch of the "figurative expressionist" painters in the Boston area)in the forties, at the School of Fine Arts of the Boston Museum. She founded with her husband Jason Berger the Direct Vision group of artists She is well listed, exhibited, and represented in museums. | |
