| Original watercolor on heavy paper by famous American watercolorist Eliot O'Hara (1890-1969) of a Moroccan street scene with a mosque's minaret in the background. This painting is signed and dated 1953 lower center. 21" by 10", 28" by 16" in its frame. Offered in excellent framed condition. Eliot O'Hara is probably the most famous American watercolorist of the last century. He painted all over the world, wrote a number of books and produced a number of movies on watercolor painting. His work is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Corcoran Gallery, the Hirshhorn Museum, the National Academy of Design, etc. Provenance: from a private collection with personal family ties to the artist. | |
