| Classic vintage photograph by Danny Fitzgerald, or as he was better known, Les Demi-Dieux....one of the most notable physique photographers of the 1950s and 60s. Fitzgerald's work captured the youth of the day in Brooklyn neighborhoods as they hung out with their buddies and hot rods. Some of these same young men are also the subjects of the vast body of figural work that Les Demi Dieux became well known for, perhaps most notably, Richard Bennett, the handsome and muscular brunette with a ripped god-like physique that was featured on the cover or between the pages of numerous magazines. The image offered here is of a nude Bennett reclining, out of doors. Fitzgerald's style has a fresh editorial quality that is timeless....so much so, one need only look to contemporary editorial/advertising work to see how ahead of the curve he was with his aesthetic and vision. Remarkable....and great stuff! This is an 10x8 matte, double weight, fiber print. This image was purchased directly from the photographer in 1964 and remained in the collection I am currently selling, for the past 43 years. By way of provenance, I have the cancelled check from the transaction....it is *not* included with the print, but offered as verification of the age of the print and its history of ownership. Condition: In excellent condition with some minor corner wear. Unmarked, undated. | ||
