Lay-Away Items may be placed on Lay-Away at the full listing price (if the item is over $150) by paying 1/2 of the purchase price (see payment terms above) and then paying 1/2 in 30 days. No extra charges are incurred. Please do not ask for lay-away if you are not ready to start paying for it right away. I am unable to hold items until you get your next pay check. This Coro 'Geissmann Screech Owl' 1938 is rhodium-plated base metal with black and red enameling and pave rhinestones, depicting a screech owl in the act of swooping down on its prey.

Robert Geissmann was of German origin, and lived in New York. He was probably a freelancer who occasionally worked for Cor and the jewelry sector. He was an inventive designer, with an extremely realistic style which he combined with a touch of irony giving his chosen subject matter an almost fantasy-like appearance and strongly defined expressivity. The barely hinted three-dimensionality of the subject is emphasize by its position and the material and colors used.

These Coro cockatoos have been hand painted with enamel. At the center of each flower is a faceted, faux diamond.

As you can see by the patent below, this duette was designed by Gene Verrechio and patented in 1941. Pat # for the duette is Des. 126,490 and for the clip #1798867.

Coro invented the "Duette" in the 1930s. An ingenious invention. The design involves two pin clips that fit together, joined by a mechanism at the back, so they can be worn together as a single brooch. Or, you can take them apart, and wear them separately.

The pin is 2 1/2" in diameter. Pin back works well. It is hallmarked Pegasus Coro.

The bracelet is 7 1/4" long by 1 1/8" wide with a safety chain that may not be original to the piece. The clasp is the fold over type that has a bend but works just fine. This, too, is hallmarked Pegasus Coro.

The clip earrings are 1 1/8" in diameter and are adjustable. The clips work well. They are marked Coro and Pat 2,809,550 for 1957. This is a fabulous set in fabulous condition.

This Coro rooster in gold plated base metal with black beak,eye,and feet and a red. The enameling on the tail is white with gold feather accents. The rooster stomach is a large amber colored crystal which measures 1 1/4 x 3/4". The stone shows an indention in the glass which appears to be smooth like it was a pour problem rather than a chip.
