This Royal Copenhagen Christmas plates is called "Waiting for Christmas". It was designed by Kaj Lange. It is the continuation of the story told by the three previous plates.

This plate depicts the lull, full of anticipation, before the family festivities- which in Denmark begin on Christmas eve- start.

The hustle and bustle of busy preparation is over. For the Children there is nothing left to do but wait. The little girl has thoughtfully put her teddy bear down where he can enjoy the Christmas trees, while she passes the time looking at a hare, that has come close to the house in search for food. In a few hours the many expectations, talked about for the endless weeks, will be fulfilled.

This Limoges cider, milk or lemonade pitcher is hand painted in a popular Art Nouveau motif with blooming flowers and green lily pads. Lots of very sophisticated gold on this piece make it attractive. 8" tall. It is Hallmarked with the William Guerin French porcelain factory mark #3 in green underglaze white ware with "Limoges" and "France". Ca 1900-1932 .
