This beautiful blue and white porcelain teapot from the Jiaqing Period was mainly used by the people from the countryside. The unusual decorated square form of the body with its stylised and decorated handle and spout make this teapot a real conversation piece. The base is marked in blue with the Buddhist symbol of the artemisia leaf signifying dignity. Condition: Excellent with minor wear to the lid,due to usage and a small firing crack under the lid having no negative effect to the top. Circa:Qing Dynasty,Jiaqing Period.(1796-1820) Size:7"L(tip of spout to end of handle) x 3 1/4"Dia. A great little Chinese porcelain teapot from the 18thC.
