A very fine Chinese Export porcelain teapot made for export to England.
This globular blue&white teapot with curved spout and flattened domed lid is painted on both sides with a riverscape showing pagodas and fishing boats with one figure on each.
Around the lid and shoulder area is a so-called Fitzhugh patchwork border.Gilt bands
and other gilt decorations were probably added later by English decorators to meet the current trends.Condition:Excellent with minor kiln adherings around the base.(Please note photo enlargements &thanks)Circa:
