This wonderful drum shaped Chinese pottery teapot is signed on top of the lid and well as on the base.(please note photo enlargements #5 and #6)The two rows of Chinese writing are translated as follows,"Love to enjoy drinking a cup of tea at night,no other thing can replace this favorite." The word Taancha is Cantonese slang meaning,"enjoy drinking tea." Condition:Excellent,no chips,cracks or restorations. Circa:Late Qing Dynasty.(1895-1905) Size:Dia:4 3/4"x 4 1/2"high(excluding handles) A beautiful Chinese pottery teapot with excellent details and traditional Chinese meaning.
