An outstanding, original "Kakemono-e"vertical diptych,of a "Japanese beauty" out walking on a breezy moonlit evening holding a fan in her right hand. The artist,Keisai Eisen(1790-1848) specialised in "Bijin-ga" i.e.portraits of fashionably dressed women, geisha & famous courtesans. His style is noted for its strangely sensual, voluptuous beauty,so typical of early 19thC Edo plebeian art. Circa:Early 19thC,Edo Period, made in the 1830's& signed by the artist with his seal.Condition:Excellent color, very good state and impression with light wear.Framed in traditional rosewood frame.Size:9 3/4"x 29". A fantastic Eisen woodblock worthy of being in your collection. Please note the beautiful photo enlargements.
