A Very Fine 18thC Famille Rose Mug,Qianlong Period
Of bell shape,finely decorated with one large and four small reserves painted in beautiful famille rose enamels with floral designs in soft muted colors with a single iron-red dragonfly among the reserves,all between a honeycomb diaper around the rim and above a swirling sea at the footed base.The elegant handle is superbly decorated in under glaze blue in the form of a long stemmed flower.Bell shaped mugs are rare forms that were basically made during the 1740's and did not survive past 1750. Condition:Perfect Circa:Qing Dynasty,Qianlong Period(1736-1795)Size:5" high x 3 5/8"Dia. A pristine piece of 18thC Chinese porcelain,displaying wonderful details and brillant enamel colors noted in all of the photo enlargements.
