| This outstanding pair of finely modelled Chinese blue&white Qilins,seated on their hind legs with tails curled around their haunches and their heads arched upwards with mouths opened wide, are all supported on a flat rectangular base.According to Cai Yong(133-192)the unicorn represents nobility and is the emblem of perfect good.The robes of the court officials of the first rank were embroidered with unicorns.(qilins) Condition:Excellent.(a pin size abrasion on the back spine)Circa:Qing Dynasty 18thC 1722-1796(probably Qianlong period(1736-1795) Size:H:2 1/2"x1 3/4"length.
