A bronze form modelled in the shape of a mythical bird standing with feet squared on an ornate round base, eyes focused on what's in its mouth with back tail feathers raised and arched forward.Three distinct horizontal layers of feathers encircle the bird's neck, giving it a very regal appearance. The grooved handle extends from the back of the bird's head to the tip of the tail feathers with a tiny baby bird perched in the middle middle of the handle. The condition is excellent with normal wear & minor abrasions hardly noticeable to the eye or touch.Circa:mid to late 19thC(1850-1890) Size:6 1/2"high x 4 1/2" dia.x 8lbs. A wonderful addition of an unusual piece of metalwork that will certainly add to the ambiance of any room.
