| This is a great Japanese Cloisonne Vase. Unsigned, but definitely the work of a master, either Hayashi or Ando. Vase is 6 sided and is large Approx. 10" tall and 7" in diameter at widest point. There is a tremendous amount of work on this vase. Thick and thin Silver wire cloisons with Silver Outer Rims (bottom rim marked silver) with the Top Inner Rim having a Gold Wash. This vase has an Extremely high gloss enamel mirror finish. Vase is in excellent condition with the exception of an old restoration on the top shoulder (last photo) of the panel to the left of the center panel. The circular area next to the top left arrow is starting to break down and pop up a little (last photo). The restoration is only on the dark blue ground and does not effect any of the cloisons. The 5 arrows show the restored area which goes up to but NOT including the boarder below the neck. I believe but can't be sure most of what you are looking at is over spray. Also the panel to the left of the restored panel has a minute nick on the shoulder with a few minute stress lines so small that i could not capture them in my photos. Vase still displays beautifully. This is a chance to get a very expensive vase at a fraction of its original price if it were perfect. Feel free to ask any questions. | |||||||||||||||
