Superb early 19th C. Japanese pottery vase w/ tadpole

Wonderful rare early 19th C. Japanese footed stoneware vessel. Open mouth with poliwog peering over edge with center tadpole and plant decoration. Outside is painted in black with Kenzan style mountain landscape. Charles Freer provenance. The vessel measures 6 1/8" high x 6 7/8" diameter. Signed on bottom in gourd shaped cartouche. 1" rim chip, otherwise fine.
