| ca. 1910 35" x 16", 89 cm x 40.5 cm These mompei are the typical pants worn to work on farms and in fields. Made of wonderfully faded pieces of indigo dyed hemp cloth with some additions of cotton indigo patches, these trouses are a wonderful mosaic of tones of blues and are an authentic tangible relic from old Japan. Note the complex pattern used to cut these pants. Completely handsewn. | |||||||||
