| ca. mid Twentieth century 14" x 18 1/2", 36 cm x 47 cm This is a wonderful, large sized drawstring bag comprised of hand sewn pieces of cotton cloth, some of which are brightly colored kasuri or ikat fabrics. Note the addition of the sashiko stitched katakana script and the depiction of a nice, fat gourd. The bag is wholly usable or 'displayable' and is in fine shape. Some of the kasuri fabrics are likely from mid-last-century, while some of the more somber striped fabrics can easily date from late Nineteenth century. | |||||||||
