Light and dark colors beautifully highlight the diagonal diamond pattern of this early crib quilt. It is made of beautiful printed fabrics on both front and back. Probably New England origin; made circa 1850. Measurements are 27" x 30"; excellent condition.
This little One Patch Doll Quilt is a perfect miniature gem. The patches are about 3/4" square. Condition is excellent. It is unusually well stitched for a doll quilt with a small diamond pattern. It measures 9 3/4" x 11 1/4". The binding is the off white backing turned to the front. Made circa 1890; Pennsylvania origin.
Double Pyramids pattern crib quilt (aka Old Maid's Puzzle)that is ever so Pennsylvania. The rust and yellow calico color combination is typical of Lancaster County where this was made. The blocks are nicely scaled to make a child size quilt. Excellent condition; circa 1880. Measures 37 1/2" x 39". Backing is a beautiful brown plaid.
Squares within squares such as this are called an Economy Patch quilt pattern. It is made of a terrific combination of late 19th century printed fabrics. Consistent use of yellow squares on the outer edge make a clever differentiation while actually using the same pattern throughout.The backing is a pink and green calico Bars pattern, often seen in quilts from southeast Pennsylvania. Measurements are 82" square; circa 1880. Excellent condition.
Terrific Contained Cotton Crazy Quilt with appeal to both appreciators of art and fabrics. It truly looks like a fabric collage. The "contained" part of the description refers to the fact that the irregularly sized and shaped pieces are set within blocks that are about 7 1/2" square. The quilt has an exceptional variety of late nineteenth century printed fabrics. A solid red piece in nearly every block very effectively carries the eye throughout the quilt. Pristine condition.

Beautiful Feathered Diamonds Quilt with a diagonal sashing. The white open diamonds highlight the fine quilting of feather patterns. The sawteeth, or feathers, are done with a wonderful variety of fabrics. Excellent, unwashed condition. Measures 80" x 96". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870.
Cleverly made version of a Hole in the Door quilt pattern. Abutting the blocks and alternating colors gives the addition of vertical and horizontal squares. In addition, the alternating blocks make an Hourglass pattern in the off spaces. The quilting patterns are marked with blue pencil that is the same color as the blocks adding additional patterning. Mint, unwashed condition. Measures 75" square. Berks County, Pennsylvania origin; circa 1920.
Feathered Stars Quilt done in a most unusual, saturated color combination. The background is a deep red on black print on which the blue calico stars really "pop". The background print in the body of the quilt consists of red grapes, leaves and vines. The same color print is used on the border but one with different leaves and vines. Nine Patch Quilt made of fine, printed wool challis fabrics on both front and back. It has a wonderfully rich color palette. Measurements are 72" x 88". Very good condition. There is a weak spot on one corner where it appears to have gotten caught on something. Made circa 1870.
Animated Wild Goose Chase Quilt (aka Spiderweb) with tiny triangles. Each measures about 1" wide x 1/2" tall. The small size in addition to placing them vertically and horizontally makes for a very dynamic pattern. Red stars at the intersections are the perfect highlights to give focus to the overall pattern. Most of the red stars are solid fabric.They are turkey red; not as orange as on my monitor.
