Beautifully balanced, classic center medallion Tree of Life Broderie Perse quilt. An elaborate bird is perched on each arm of the central tree. Four "dog tooth" borders create wonderful frames. The same chintz fabric is used throughout but has a different appearance depending upon how it was cut out. Well quilted with feather patterns in the outer borders. Nicely scaled variation of a Nine Patch doll quilt in which the squares are divided into triangles, giving it an entirely different look. Has no batting just a top and back. Excellent condition with the sole exception of one corner with some shredding the size of a pea. It is visible in lower left corner. Fabrics on the front are 1870's and 80's; back is a floral print that may be a little later. Measures 16 1/2" x 17.

Well crafted Loveapple quilt, a pattern not often seen. It is beautifully appliqued and nicely quilted with a crosshatch pattern in the body of the quilt and undulating vine throughout the border. The leaves are a rich teal green color. with a droll touch. The print on the fabric is a flower much like the Loveapple in shape. Lancaster County, Pennsylvania origin; circa 1860. A variety of flowers and a bird and butterfly adorn this unusual mantelpiece cover. The embroidery is all done in wool. Most of the applique is wool with a bit of velvet. It measures 70" long and 9" deep. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870.

It's safe to say that this doll quilt is unique pattern. It is pieced; appliqued and embroidered and looks something like an aerial landscape of farmland. Measurements are 19" x 26"; circa 1920. It is made primarily of cotton with a bit of wool for the embroidery.

This classic Nine Patch quilt is enhanced by a triangle border of a complimentary fabric. The deep indigo of the nine patches are set off by the blue and rose striped triangles. It is very finely quilted with a variety of patterns. It has been professionally laundered and is in pristine condition. Measurements are 96" x 98", ideal for a queen or king size bed. Finely crafted version of a classic Barnraising Log Cabin Quilt. Printed wool challis fabrics are beautifully combined to make the concentric diamonds pattern. Solid wools are used for the two borders that are quilted with cable patterns. They beautifully frame the central pattern. Measurements are 82" square. This patchwork quilt consisting of squares on point made of 49 blocks is done with the utmost precision. Meticulous care was used in making the corners with the same yellow and indigo fabrics highlighting the intersections of the blocks. Red and green were used in the centers of each block although with a variety of fabrics. Similarly, a variety of red, brown and pink fabrics were consistently placed.
