This is an very densely pieced version of an Irish Chain Quilt. It was beautifully planned with printed fabrics in the middle of each band and solids on either side. The use of the same piecing throughout the border is an especially nice touch. The off blocks are also pieced, done in strips. This came from the same household as the Elizabeth Beard applique quilt, item # 1182073 and may have been made by Beard as well but does not have the label. Both have ivory colored fields and were made in the same time period. The quilt is in excellent, unwashed condition. There is some variation in the tones of the ivory bands. Measurements are 78" x 92": circa 1930.
