Intense Kaleidoscope pattern quilt made of medium weight wools. The central red stripe of the triple border is especially effective in carrying through the criss crosses of the same red used throughout the quilt. Excellent condition. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1890. Probably Mennonite origin. Measures 71" square. Backing is a heavy cotton with a paisley -like floral print. Sewn to the quilt is a paper with what is probably the name of the person for whom it was made; shown in last thumbnail photo.
