Oxidized Silver and Tumbaga Necklace by Eduardo Herrera

Dramatic and unusual necklace by Mexican architect turned jeweler, Eduardo Herrera. His architecture background is evident in the construction of this necklace in which the back is as beautiful as the front (see middle thumbnail photo). It is made of oxidized 950 silver (higher quality than the sterling standard) and tumbaga, an ancient technique combining gold and copper. The links are hammered with a matte finish. It measures approximately 17" long but is difficult to measure precisely because of the curve of the design. The center links are 1 1/4" wide.
