It is fascinating how a quarter turn can make a regular pattern into such an unusual one. Turning the squares on point gives an entirely new life to this Four Patch in Diamond quilt. Rather than just setting the Four Patches on point as most makers would have, this quilter set the overall block on the diamond for an unusual effect. Quilted throughout with a pattern of arcs that are a nice counterpoint to the geometric pieced pattern. It is made with a lovely selection of 19th century fabrics. Measurements are 92" x 94". Pennsylvania origin; circa 1870.
