This Princess Feather (aka Prince's Feather) quilt has fewer spokes than usual. I can only assume the maker streamlined the applique in order to have more white space on which to feature her superb quilting. It is tightly quilted with arcs, diagonal lines and feathers. The border applique is a smaller version of the primary feathers. Yellow centers to the four feathers really make them pop. The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in pristine condition. Measurements are 86" square. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1860.
