This Trip Around the World quilt is as crisp as the day it was made some 125 years ago. It was clearly packed away and totally unused.
The outer border is a tremendous fire engine red with white stitching for the cable quilting pattern. The blocks are small with each square measuring just1 1/2" to a side. The colors are beautifully placed combining solid and printed fabrics.
The backing is made of two fabrics that are the same floral print in two different color ways. It is pieced to form three Bars making the quilt totally reversible to a very different pattern.
Measurements are 82" square. Pennsylvania origin; circa 1880's.
