To the best of my knowledge, this Mennonite applique quilt is a unique pattern. The double sawtooth border and cable pattern quilting are traditional elements in Mennonite quilts but it departs from there. The body of the quilt is stitched with rows of undulating lines. The color choices are unusual but not unknown in Mennonite quilts. The quilt is in excellent, unwashed condition. There are several light smudges but they do not detract from the impact of the quilt.
It is finely appliqued and well quilted. Measurements are 74" x 84". Blainsport (Lancaster County) origin; circa 1900.
