This bold Lone Star quilt (aka Star of Bethlehem or Star of Texas) has possibly the finest quilting I have seen on this pattern. It is exquisitely tightly done in a waffle pattern. The diamonds are a mere half an inch to a side throughout the body of the quilt. The borders are quilted with triple groups of diagonal lines. The single row of pink diamonds gives a nice "pop" to the otherwise dark colors.
The quilt has been professionally laundered and is in excellent condition. Measurements are 70" x 72". Made circa 1880; Pennsylvania origin.
