| Unwashed Star of Bethlehem quilt (aka Lone Star) with dynamic candy stripe border. Signed "Billy 1932". Puzzling as to whether Billy made the quilt or it was made for him. Both are equally unlikely in that the colors are not especially "masculine". Excellent unwashed condition; brown spot about the size of a quarter near the outer edge could likely be removed with cleaning. High quality cotton sateen fabrics used for the piecing; ground is plainer cotton. Well quilted; measures 86" square. Pennsylvania origin. | |||||||||
